Digital Interactive Student Notebook – Lesson Version

This template is a digital version of the spiral bound notebook often used in science classes, ready for your personal touches to make it work for any science lesson!

Students will be able to write in the name of the lesson (or you can do this before pushing it out to students), their name, and track their assignments using the table of contents.

The digital interactive science notebook is formatted to look and function like a full-spread spiral bound notebook, with even numbered pages on the left side of each slide and odd numbered pages on the right. The two sides of each slide have contrasting colors to help students (and you!) delineate the two sides, much like the spiral middle of the traditional notebook. This formatting will allow you to use the digital interactive science notebook with the traditional left-side/right-side (input/output) work method often used with interactive notebooks.

The template includes a title page, a table of contents, and 7 slides (14 “pages”) of work space. Each of the work space slides is numbered with editable title spaces and room for you or your students to write, draw, and insert objects.

Use this template to create a digital interactive science notebook that is unique for your lesson, ensuring that students are well-equipped and ready to learn… especially in a digital environment and with distance learning! The little bit of prep time you spend up front saves you countless classroom minutes in the long-run (not to mention how much easier it will be to grade a well-organized, digital notebook!).

Once students have their notebooks, they will be able to add notes, upload pictures (from the web, pictures they’ve drawn using Google draw or by hand-drawing and capturing pictures on their device, or even pictures they have captured of their lab work), respond to questions, complete lab write-ups, record data, and so much more! You will be able to access and give feedback to their work instantly and without having to haul around a bunch of spiral bound notebooks!
